Nexford University and UPI Study have formalized a collaborative agreement effective April 24, 2026, to establish a credit transfer pathway for students pursuing undergraduate degrees at Nexford. This articulation agreement is set to streamline the process for learners to transfer credits from UPI Study courses, which carry ACE and NCCRS credit recommendations, into Nexford’s undergraduate programs. This initiative is particularly advantageous for students focused on fields such as business, computer science, AI, mathematics, science, and social sciences, allowing them to complete courses online and at their own pace, either before enrolling at Nexford or concurrently.
This strategic partnership aims to provide working adults, career changers, and busy individuals with a more efficient and cost-effective route to achieving their degrees. By allowing students to enter Nexford with pre-earned credits, the agreement significantly reduces the time and financial burden associated with obtaining a degree. Dr. Ann Larson, Chief Academic Officer at Nexford University, emphasized the university’s mission to accommodate learners’ existing lifestyles rather than requiring them to adapt to traditional educational models. She highlighted that this partnership with UPI Study offers a credible and recognized path for students to advance toward their degrees prior to enrollment.
UPI Study’s courses, which are self-paced and recommended by ACE and NCCRS, start at an affordable rate of $89 per month, presenting a stark contrast to the typical $300 to $600 per credit hour charged by traditional community colleges. Students have the flexibility to complete individual courses, receive an official transcript, and directly submit their credits to Nexford for evaluation. A detailed course equivalency guide, derived from the signed agreement’s Appendix 1, is accessible on the UPI Study website.
Nexford University, based in Washington, DC, is an innovative institution designed around modern career outcomes rather than traditional academic conventions. It emphasizes real-world projects and the integration of AI as a strategic tool, preparing graduates with contemporary, employer-valued skills. UPI Study, on the other hand, provides college-level courses recommended by ACE and NCCRS, which are accepted at over 2,100 universities across the globe. These courses are entirely online, self-paced, and require no campus attendance, offering a flexible learning solution for students worldwide.
