Jaguar Land Rover has taken a significant step forward in its electrification journey with the introduction of the Range Rover Electric, the brand’s inaugural fully electric SUV in the UK market. Priced from £154,070, the vehicle is now available for order, with the first customer deliveries slated for 2027. This move underscores the company’s commitment to transitioning towards electric mobility, with production set at its Solihull facility.
The Range Rover Electric boasts impressive performance metrics, driven by two electric motors that deliver up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque. This allows the luxury SUV to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Additionally, it offers a commendable range of up to 372 miles, as measured by the WLTP testing cycle, making it a practical choice for long-distance travel.
Equipped with a 118.5kWh battery, the Range Rover Electric supports 800-volt charging technology. This advanced feature enables the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes, provided the charging conditions are ideal. Such capabilities are poised to enhance the convenience and appeal of electric vehicle ownership.
Despite its transition to an electric powertrain, the Range Rover Electric maintains the brand’s signature luxury design and off-road prowess. The SUV incorporates revised aerodynamic features and retains the ability to wade through water up to 900mm deep, ensuring it remains versatile in diverse environments.
Years of rigorous development and testing have culminated in this model’s launch. To support its production, Jaguar Land Rover will utilize its Wolverhampton facility, which is responsible for manufacturing the necessary battery packs and electric drive units.
